| "How do you summarize the reasons for being a part of such a powerful, needed organization into one statement? Simple—use someone else’s words! |
'Everyone needs at least one other person who is crazy about them.'
- Uri Bronfrennbrenner |
'Now more than ever, we not only should but we must stay connected.'
- Heather Wylie, Girls Inc. May Day 2011 |
As a student, community member, athlete, and teacher in Tehama County, I have been blessed with parents, coaches, friends, and a husband who I knew and still know are crazy about me. Through their strength I have been able to stay connected to a community of support through all challenges that life presents. It is the building of these relationships that continually inspires me to be a part of Girls Inc. We do not just support girls; we support the creation of lifelong relationships. It is my dream that each girl walk away from Girls Inc. knowing that someone is 'crazy' about them, and have the confidence to stay connected throughout their life." -Heidi Mendenhall
Heidi Mendenhall currently works at the Tehama County Department of Education.
