Redding West Rotary Announces Grant Awards
Redding West Rotary is pleased to announce that they will award six grants totaling $24,123 to deserving organizations in the Redding area at their weekly club meeting on June 18, 2024.
Recipients include:
- $2,500 to Girls Inc. to fund the Leadership and Community Action Programs
- $5,000 to Riverfront Playhouse to purchase and replace water heaters and pumps
- $5,000 to Shasta Family YMCA for their 1st grade learn to swim program
- $2,500 to Redding Youth Soccer League for scholarships for low-income families
- $4,882 to Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance to purchase computers, industrial lockers and food containers
- $4,241 to Northern California Veterans Support Group to purchase patio furniture and planter boxes for the N. California Veterans Home
“This grant application and review process is in our third year for our Rotary Club and we received an overwhelming response from local organizations. We know the need is great and we are honored to play our part” states Max Ruffcorn, current Redding West Rotary President.
Funding for these grants, as well as over $40,000 in annual scholarships, $10,000 for international projects and thousands for other local improvement projects are supported by proceeds from the annual Taste of Redding. Redding West Rotary is proud to partner with Dignity Health to host the annual Taste of Redding. Taste of Redding is held at the Redding Sculpture Park at City Hall. Join over 1,500 attendees and experience local food, wine and craft beers this year on Sunday June 9th from noon to 4pm. This event sells out every year so get your tickets early.
