Meet Amber Hawk: Community Connector, Advocate, and New Girls Inc. Board Member

We’re thrilled to welcome Amber to the Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley Board of Directors—a passionate community leader whose energy, heart, and commitment to service are nothing short of inspiring.

A Redding resident since 1989, Amber began her journey studying Liberal Studies at Shasta College and went on to earn her B.A. in Liberal Studies from CSU Sacramento. Since 2006, she has thrived in the field of sales and marketing, where she combines her love for people, relationship-building, and helping businesses grow.

Amber’s dedication to community involvement runs deep. She has contributed to countless local efforts and causes, including:

  • 12 years as a Chamber Ambassador, promoting local business and revitalization

  • Current Secretary and former Vice President of the Community Alliance Network (formerly ION), leading four major community fundraisers each year

  • 8 years as a board member for Raising Shasta (formerly Pathways to Hope for Children and Catalyst)

  • A beloved honorary barista for Turtle Bay’s Caffeinate for a Cause for five years

  • Former Advisory Council member for Shining Care and active supporter of the Shasta Board of Realtors’ Social Committee

  • Past participant in Dancing with the Stars to raise awareness for One Safe Place, and a former Think Pink board member, organizing the annual Bridge Lighting Event

Amber has also volunteered with Catalyst Mentoring, helped plan numerous nonprofit events and golf tournaments, and continues to offer her event planning expertise wherever it’s needed.

As a new board member of Girls Inc. NSV, Amber is deeply committed to empowering the next generation of girls. Her own experience working in a woman-owned company within a male-dominated industry fuels her passion to show girls that they are capable of anything they set their hearts to.

“I feel it is so important and vital to show that all girls can be powerful, resilient, and a force in society—no matter what comes their way in school, work, or life.”

When she’s not volunteering or leading in the community, Amber enjoys concerts, rodeos, dancing, music, movies, lake days, baseball games, skating, ice skating, reading, shopping, traveling, and most of all—spending quality time with friends and family.

Amber’s drive, positivity, and servant heart are an incredible asset to the Girls Inc. mission. We’re honored to have her on board as we continue building a future where girls are strong, smart, and bold.
