Meet Khalisa Miller: Community Builder, Mentor, and Advocate for Girls’ Empowerment

We’re thrilled to spotlight Khalisa Miller, a dedicated board member of Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley whose leadership is deeply rooted in compassion, strength, and authenticity.

Khalisa has called the Redding area home since 2020. She and her husband, Tyson, share a vibrant blended family of 12 children—each bringing six into their loving home. Their busy, joyful life is filled with activity, love, and purpose. Khalisa also shares her days with three energetic dogs and enjoys taking time to hike, kayak, and travel whenever she can.

A firm believer in leading with integrity and heart, Khalisa brings a clear philosophy to her work with Girls Inc.:

“Strong leadership means knowing when to ask for help and when to push through challenges—always staying true to who you are.”

This guiding belief is a powerful reflection of the Girls Inc. mission to inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Khalisa knows firsthand the importance of resilience, self-trust, and community—especially for girls growing up in a world full of pressures and possibilities.

As a board member, Khalisa is committed to helping create programs that uplift, mentor, and open doors for girls of all backgrounds. Her energy, life experience, and leadership are an incredible asset to our mission.
