Meet Board Member Melanie Vincent
Meet Melanie Vincent: Lifelong Mentor, Business Leader, and Advocate for the Next Generation
We are proud to highlight Melanie Vincent, a devoted board member of Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley whose passion for mentoring and empowering youth has shaped her life’s journey.
Melanie grew up in Carson City, Nevada, where her supportive parents instilled in her the importance of giving back. Early on, she was selected to help launch a student-to-student conflict resolution program at her high school—an experience that sparked a lifelong commitment to youth mentorship and community service.
While attending the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), Melanie continued to volunteer her time mentoring girls from grade school through high school, offering guidance, encouragement, and a steady presence in both group and one-on-one settings. Her passion extended beyond the classroom, as she led mission trips, organized summer camps, and helped plan events for young adults that fostered connection and growth.
After moving to Redding in 2004, Melanie established Melanie Vincent Farmers Insurance, where she continues to serve the community with integrity and care. Alongside her husband John, she supports a number of local charities focused on youth development and veterans’ programs—continuing a tradition of service that began in her teenage years.
Melanie was drawn to Girls Inc. NSV after seeing the tangible, transformative impact the organization had on girls throughout the North State.
“It’s incredible to see girls gain confidence, discover their voice, and step boldly into who they are meant to be,” she says.
As a board member, Melanie brings a wealth of experience, empathy, and leadership. Her work and example help shape programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold—the very values she has modeled throughout her life.
